Taillow Trouble

The girls were both heading towards the next town after taking the right path this time. They still hadn't seen any wild Pokemon, so they just admired the nature. It had been about half an hour since they had taken this new route, and the girls were getting hungry.
"Torchic…" The little Pokemon's tummy growled and she lowered her head.
"Hey Rach, I think we should take a break."
"Yeah… I'm getting hungary too…"
They walked into the forest and found a tree stump.
"Here, this is perfect." Rachel dropped her bag on the stump.
Sydney sat down in front of it and stared at the bag hopefully. "Did your mom make us food?! I love your mothers cooking!"
Rachel grinned. "Yeah, she did. Sadly it won't last us too long…"
"Aw… Oh well! Let's eat!"
Rachel opened the bag and gave Sydney a homemade sandwich, along with chips, and an apple. "And here you go Torchic." She placed a handful of Pokemon food on the stump.
"Tor!" Torchic jumped onto the stump and ate happily.
"You like that Torchic?" Rachel asked.
She looked up at her and flapped her tiny fluffy wings happily. "Torchic Tor!"
"Good!" She looked around but couldn't see Treecko. "Treecko? Where'd you go?"
"Up there!" Sydney pointed to a tall tree.
She looked up to see Treecko sitting on a high branch with a twig in his mouth. "Treecko, I have some yummy food for you!"
Treecko glanced over at her but looked back up at the sky.
"Ehhh… Why won't you come down here?! You're missing quality friend time!"
"Rachel, calm down. According to my Pokedex, Treecko is a tree dwelling Pokemon. So he prefers it up there."
"Hmph…" Rachel flopped down and took a bite out of her sandwich angrily.
After finishing their lunch, Rachel reached into her bag and pulled out a chocolate bar. "Look what I gooooot~!"
Sydney gasped. "Oh my gosh no way! I was dying for some chocolate!"
She chuckled and opened the candy bar. As soon as it was opened Rachel suddenly felt it disappear. "WHAT?!"
Sydney pointed to the sky. "That Pokemon took it!"
Flying off into the sky away with the chocolate bar was a blue bird Pokemon.
"Get back here and give me my chocolate back!"
Once it was nearly above the trees, Treecko jumped out and did a flip, whacking the Pokemon right out of the sky.
Both the girls gasped.
"Wow… Good job Treecko!"
The candy bar fell to the ground along with the stunned Pokemon. Treecko landed beside it and glared down at it.
They all ran over to the fallen Pokemon and the girls took out their Pokedexs.
"TAILLOW, the TinySwallow Pokemon. It courageously stands its ground against foes, however strong they may be. This gutsy Pokemon will remain defiant even after a loss. On the other hand, it cries loudly if it becomes hungry. It sometimes becomes lonesome and cries at night. This Pokemon feeds on WURMPLE that live in forests. It dislikes cold seasons. They migrate to other lands in search of warmth, flying over 180 miles a day."
"Sounds strong… I'm gonna catch it!" Rachel got out a PokeBall and was about to throw it before the Taillow suddenly flew away.
"Taillooooooow!" It cried.
"It must be hungry." Sydney stated.
"Hey Taillow! If you let me catch you you can have some yummy food!"
Suddenly, about twenty or so other Taillow's showed up behind the trees. They didn't look too happy…
"Taillow! Taillow! Taillow! Taillow!" The swarm cried.
"Uh… Didn't the Pokedex say they were strong…?" Sydney asked, cowering behind her friend.
Rachel slowly nodded. "Yeah…"
"Tree…" Treecko clenched his fists and glared at the swarm, but he was even nervous.
"Rachel! We can't take on all those Taillow with only two Pokemon!"
"Well what are we supposed to do?!"
"Run?!"
"Yeah… That works too… RUN!" Rachel grabbed her wrist and they raced off in the other direction, with Torchic and Treecko following close behind. The girls ran through the woods and back to the path. "Did we lose them?!"
"Uh… No! They're catching up!"
"We got to make it to the next town and fast!"
"There's no way we can run that far!"
"Well what do-"
"TORCHIC!"
Sydney looked back and screamed. "Torchic!"
Rachel stopped and looked back to see Torchic on the ground.
The Taillow dived down to attack the defenseless Pokemon. Just before they got to her, Treecko jumped out and grabbed her before leaping away. A few of the Taillow hit the ground and cried out in pain.
"Good job Treecko!"
Sydney took Torchic from Treecko. "Thank you!"
He grinned but the reunion was cut short when more Taillow flew at Treecko.
"Treecko! Watch out!"
He looked to the side and jumped back just in time to get out of the way from the pissed off Taillow. He then swung around and whacked two of the Taillow to the ground. They landed hard on the ground, but quickly got up and joined the swarm.
"What?!"
"Treecko!" He leaped into the air and used pound against one of the Taillow, but it recovered before it even hit the ground. Before Treecko landed he whacked a Taillow with his tail and landed on top of it. Then it started to glow as Treecko used absorb to try and weaken the fallen Taillow. It let out a loud cry and Treecko used pound on it, but it continued to struggle.
"Treecko!" Rachel jumped out and grabbed her Pokemon as the swarm of Taillow barely missed them. "It's no use! You can't take them all!"
Treecko struggled from her grasp and landed in front of her, prepared to fight. "Tree!"
"Treecko, come on!"
He lunged at her and whacked a Taillow away that was about to attack her. He then looked back at her and motioned for her to run.
"Treecko…"
"Treecko Tree!"
Rachel grinned and looked back at her cowering friend. "Sydney, you and Torchic get away! We'll take care of the Taillow!"
"I'm not going to just leave you alone!"
Rachel rolled her eyes. "Oh just go!"
Sydney hesitated but then quickly got to her feet and took off.
"Alright Treecko, ready?!"
"Tree!"
"Alright! Use absorb!"
"Treecko!"
A few of the Taillow started to glow as the energy got sucked out of them. They started to fall but managed to recover before they hit the ground. A few of them flew towards him and flew around him. The rest dived down from above.
"Treecko! Use pound!"
A few of the Taillow got hit back, but they immediately went back to attacking the out numbered Pokemon.
"Treecko! No!" Rachel looked around and grabbed a branch from a tree. She ran out to her injured Pokemon and started whacking at the Taillow. "Get away from him!" She got to Treecko but the branch was taken from her hands, so she covered Treecko.
"Rachel!"
She wanted to open her eyes, but she was afraid they may be pecked out.
"Mightyena, use roar!" yelled an unfamiliar voice.
Suddenly a loud and frightening roar rang out and it caused the Taillow to be blown away from them.
Rachel opened her eyes and looked around. "What happened…?"
"Rachel! Rachel are you okay?!" Sydney ran over to her.
"Y-yeah… I don't think Treecko is though…"
A woman ran over to them. "Are you alright? You're lucky your friend got help in time."
"This is officer Jenny. I was trying to get to the next city when I saw her."
"We better get your Treecko to the Pokemon center right away!"
Rachel nodded and got to her feet. "Too bad even through all that I still didn't catch a Taillow…"
"That's okay, I caught one for you!"
"What?!"
"Yeah! A Taillow followed us and Torchic managed to beat it! So I caught it for you. And she learned ember!"
"Nice!"
"Tree…"
"Oh! Let's get going to the city!"
"Girls, hop on!" Officer Jenny patted the back of her motorcycle and the girls jumped on.
Rachel held her weak Pokemon close. "It'll be alright Treecko…"
They sped off towards the next city, with officer Jenny's Pokemon running beside.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Officer Jenny was so worried about Treecko she drove right into the Pokemon center. Rachel jumped off the motorcycle, thanked officer Jenny, then ran over to nurse Joy.
"Hi nurse Joy! Treecko needs help!"
"Have we met?" she asked.
"What?! Of course we did!"
Sydney and officer Jenny got off of the motorcycle.
"All the Pokemon centers have a nurse Joy. They're all related and look exactly the same. Same goes for me. And we all have the same name!"
Sydney looked really confused.
"Oh…" Was all Rachel could say. She then looked back to nurse Joy. "Please help him!"
"And this Pokemon too." Sydney placed a PokeBall on the desk.
"Of course," said nurse Joy.
Just then a pink Pokemon with an egg in its pouch walked in pushing a cart.
"What kind of Pokemon is that?" Rachel asked.
Both of the girls took out the Pokedex. "CHANSEY, the egg Pokemon. A gentle and kindhearted Pokemon that shares its nutritious eggs if it sees an injured Pokemon. It walks carefully to prevent its egg from breaking. However, it is extremely fast at running away. Few in number and difficult to capture, it is said to bring happiness to the trainer who catches it. It lays several eggs a day. The eggs are apparently rich in nutrients and extremely delicious."
"Huh… How interesting."
Nurse Joy placed the PokeBall and Treecko on the cart and took them into another room.
"I hope we weren't too late…" Rachel sighed.
Sydney put a hand on her shoulder. "Treecko is tough, I'm sure he'll be alright."
"Yeah… He is."
After a little over an hour nurse Joy came out. Rachel jumped to her feet and ran over to her, with Sydney close behind.
"Is Treecko okay?!"
"He was badly injured, but he'll be alright. He just needs to rest over night."
Rachel sighed in relief. "Thank you…"
Nurse Joy handed Sydney the PokeBall. "And here is your Taillow."
Sydney smiled and handed it to Rachel. "YOUR Taillow."
Rachel smiled and gave her friend a hug. "Thank you."
"No problem! Besides, you let me have Torchic."
Torchic jumped up and down happily. "Torchic Tor!"
"True. So, I guess we're going to have to stay here tonight."
"Hey! We should go to the gym. There's one just down the road."
"Alright!"
They both jumped up and ran out of the Pokemon center.
"So which way is it?"
"Uhm…" Sydney looked around then pointed. "Down there! Let's go!"
The girls sprinted down the road to the Petalburg gym. When they got inside it was empty. It was literally empty. Except with a PokeBall symbol in the center of a painted square.
"Where's the gym leader?" Rachel asked.
As if on cue, a door opened on the other side of the room and a young adult walked in. "Oh, hello girls. I am Norman, the gym leader. Would you like to battle?"
"Well… My Pokemon are all injured, so I'm just looking. Do you wanna battle Sydney?"
"Uh… Now that I think about it…battling with just one Pokemon isn't a good idea…"
"Are you two new trainers? From Littleroot?"
"Uh… Yeah, how'd you know?" Rachel asked.
"Another young trainer from there showed up awhile ago and I had a battle with him. The kid had guts, but only had two Pokemon."
"Michael…" Rachel whispered.
"Yes, him. I told him to come back later. You should have at least three skilled Pokemon before you challenge a gym leader. Tell you what. How about you girls come back here another time? By the next gym you should have more Pokemon and ones that are better trained. And just to let you in on a little secret, the next gym leader is a lot easier to beat."
The girls smiled. "Alright!"
"Thank you for the advice!"
Oh... Those Taillow... Such a cool Pokemon though!
